Affiliate Disclosure
Last updated: 2026-04-26
Some links on this site are affiliate links. If you click one and end up buying or signing up for the service, we get a small commission. The price you pay does not change.
Which links
Affiliate links on AccidentallyAbroad always go through our own /go/ redirect URLs (for example /go/wise) so they’re easy to spot in your address bar.
The companies we currently have affiliate relationships with:
- Wise (international banking)
- SafetyWing (travel and expat insurance)
- NordVPN and ExpressVPN (VPN services)
- SavvyNomad (US tax service for nomads)
- Trip.com (flights and hotels)
- 12Go (Asia transport bookings)
What this means in practice
- We only recommend products we actually use, or that we’ve tested for long enough to have an opinion. If we don’t use it, we don’t link to it, regardless of payout.
- When two products do similar things, we recommend the one we think is better, even if a competitor pays more.
- You won’t see "best 10 X" listicles where every option has the same level of effusive praise. That’s not honest.
Why we use affiliate links
They keep the lights on without us having to run banner ads, sell email addresses, or chase sponsorships. Pinterest pins and SEO traffic don’t pay anything by themselves, so this is the model.
FTC compliance
This disclosure is required by the United States Federal Trade Commission’s endorsement guidelines. Even if you’re not in the US, we want you to know what’s going on.
